While this is a relatively common mushroom most of us don't recognize it as a mushroom. It grows up to 12" across and in clusters. This group was found on a log 16 meters (40') long and held perhaps as much as 28 kilos (61 pounds) of the fungi attached to it. They are edible but as usual precautions must always be taken. I enjoy just shooting them for their interesting appearance and intracacies of detail.
Since I was a very young boy on the farm, 6 or 7, I have been shooting everything in my line of sight. In those early days I found that anything could inspire me. Grasshoppers and Gartner snakes to coyotes and eagles, as well a rows of crops we grew. Eventually I was given a Kodak Brownie, just to prevent me from using my Mother's KodakBrownie out in the fields. I was thrilled. Since then I have gone through many styles of shooting and editing.
