The log holds a fungi on the lower portion white below, forest brown on the cover where it attaches to the log. These toughen quickly preventing them from being eaten. Shot during a visit to a stream side location of old growth Douglas Fir, Hemlock and Western Red Cedar. This particular log is a long-ago fallen Maple, with that true Pacific NW mossy covered look
About Rich Collins
Since I was a very young boy on the farm, 6 or 7, I have been shooting everything in my line of sight. In those early days I found that anything could inspire me. Grasshoppers and Gartner snakes to coyotes and eagles, as well a rows of crops we grew.
